Summary
- AMD now offers 3D V-Cache technology in its workstation processors.
- New Ryzen PRO 9000 series chips use Zen 5 architecture.
- Chips will begin rolling out in the second half of 2026.

AMD has announced a significant update to its workstation processor lineup, integrating its 3D V-Cache technology into the new Ryzen PRO 9000 series chips. This marks the first time AMD is offering this advanced cache feature in commercial workstation CPUs, previously focused on gaming applications. The new processors are built on AMD's Zen 5 architecture and will support up to 256GB of ECC DDR5 memory and PCIe 5.0. AMD indicates that the 3D V-Cache will benefit data-intensive professional workloads, including simulation, rendering, and real-time visualization. The expanded Ryzen PRO 9000 series will offer configurations ranging from 6 to 16 cores. These new chips are expected to start rolling out in the second half of 2026. For instance, the Lenovo ThinkStation P4 is confirmed to launch with these new processors in Q3 2026.
