Amazfit has introduced the $200 Helio Strap Pro, a notable advancement in screenless health tracking technology. This device enhances existing wrist-based monitoring by incorporating an upper-arm heart rate sensor and a clip-on waist motion sensor. The upper-arm sensor aims for more precise heart rate data, while the waist sensor tracks stability and movement.
Primarily aimed at hybrid athletes and Hyrox competitors, the Helio Strap Pro offers detailed performance metrics for each of the eight Hyrox stations. The system, compatible with Amazfit's Balance 3 and Balance Ultra smartwatches, provides insights into cardio effort, muscle load, and movement quality. While the sensors function independently, the smartwatches are required for the full system experience.
A key advantage of the Helio Strap Pro is its lack of a mandatory monthly subscription, differentiating it from competitors like Whoop. The system is compatible with iOS 17 and later, and Android 8.0 and later. The Helio Core Motion HR sensor offers up to 11 days of battery life, and the waist sensor provides up to 40 days.
