Alienware has launched its 39-inch ultrawide 5K2K (5,120-by-2,160-pixel) gaming monitor, the AW3926QW, featuring a cutting-edge QD-OLED panel. This display is distinguished by its use of RGB Stripe Tandem OLED technology, positioning it as a unique offering in the market. It boasts a maximum HDR brightness of 1,300 nits and DisplayHDR True Black 500 certification.
Differing from some competitors, the AW3926QW does not include built-in AI upscaling. However, its pricing at $1,099.99 makes it a notably more affordable option compared to similar high-end monitors. This combination of advanced technology, competitive pricing, and a gamer-first feature set positions the Alienware AW3926QW as an Editors' Choice for ultrawide gaming monitors.
The monitor utilizes an RGB Stripe Tandem OLED panel, which LG states offers improvements in brightness and color luminance, focusing on mixed-use readability. This technology differs from LG's Primary RGB Tandem OLED, which emphasizes higher peak brightness for HDR gaming. Both panel types, however, share key specifications like peak brightness and HDR certification.
