Summary
- AI video clip features Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt fighting.
- Filmmaker created clip with a two-line prompt in Seedance 2.0.
- Hollywood warns of AI's potential to create indistinguishable movies.

An AI-generated 15-second clip showing actors Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt in a fight scene has sparked significant concern within the film industry. Rhett Reese, co-writer for popular films like "Deadpool & Wolverine," shared the clip, expressing anxieties about the future of filmmaking. He warned that AI could soon allow individuals to create movies indistinguishable from current Hollywood releases, potentially threatening the industry.
The clip was reportedly generated using a brief, two-line prompt in Seedance 2.0, a new AI video tool from TikTok's parent company, ByteDance. This ease of creation has intensified fears among industry professionals.
In response, the Motion Picture Association accused ByteDance of large-scale, unauthorized use of US copyrighted works. The MPA urged ByteDance to halt its infringing activities, emphasizing that such services disregard copyright laws and endanger American jobs.
