The AI system is adept at identifying common issues such as incorrect photographs, inadequate proof of address, or incorrect dates of birth. By flagging these errors early, the system has prevented hundreds of potential delays and enabled applicants to correct mistakes promptly.
This initiative allows council staff to redirect their efforts toward providing more in-depth support to residents. Deputy Leader Councillor Adam Kent highlighted that AI is enhancing service efficiency and reducing administrative burdens. The council plans to expand its use of AI to further improve resident experience and deliver better value.
