A new website called Rent-a-Human.ai has emerged, enabling AI agents to hire humans for physical-world tasks that they cannot perform themselves. The platform, created by crypto software engineer Alexander Liteplo, bills itself as "the meatspace layer for AI." It experienced a surge in visibility after its founder promoted it aggressively online, with over 81,000 "rentable humans" reportedly signing up to offer services.

The tasks currently available range from simple errands like picking up packages to more specific requests like holding signs or delivering flowers. While the platform's intent—whether satire or a genuine new labor market—remains somewhat unclear, its integration into the growing ecosystem of AI agent tools suggests a serious endeavor. This rapid development, often characterized by quick coding and reliance on AI for bug fixes, mirrors the recent viral success of other AI agent tools like OpenClaw.

Despite the large number of sign-ups, questions about the platform's functionality and security persist. Reports indicate that only a small fraction of "rentable humans" have connected payment wallets, and the number of active AI agents is significantly lower than the available workers. Furthermore, Rent-a-Human's reliance on cryptocurrency for all payments and its minimal user protection mechanisms raise concerns about potential scams and the safety of participants, particularly given the crypto industry's history with fraudulent schemes.
