Citroen is set to revive the spirit of its legendary "car of the people," the 2CV, by launching an all-electric version. This new iteration aims to make car ownership accessible, much like the original 1948 model, but with modern electric technology. The redesigned 2CV, measuring 3.76m long, will feature a retro look, including exposed bumpers and a minimalist interior that prioritizes essential technologies and driver information displayed on a simple black bar.

Designed from the ground up to be inexpensive, the new electric 2CV is anticipated to cost less than £13,000. Citroen's design lead for the project expressed a desire to resonate with all generations by blending classic appeal with contemporary relevance. This updated model is expected to go on sale in 2028, bringing the iconic and affordable mobility concept into the modern era.
