Adobe has released a full version of Premiere Pro for Android devices, a move that significantly enhances mobile video editing capabilities. This free application allows users to import numerous video tracks, trim and split clips, apply effects, and export content in resolutions up to 4K. It also includes features for audio extraction, noise reduction, and voiceovers, with a particular emphasis on the YouTube Shorts format.
The app's user interface dynamically adjusts to different screen sizes, including foldables, offering a flexible editing experience. Performance testing showed that the app handles high-bitrate 4K clips smoothly, with export times on par with expectations for typical smartphone hardware, requiring a minimum of 5GB of RAM.
While the core editing suite is accessible without a subscription, advanced generative AI tools such as text-to-video and image-to-video generation are available through paid plans. These plans offer monthly AI credits, providing access to various AI models. This launch provides Android users with a professional-grade editing tool, bridging a long-standing gap compared to Apple's offerings.
