Toyota is set to release the 2027 Highlander, marking a significant step as its first-ever all-electric three-row SUV. This vehicle represents Toyota's fourth electric offering in the U.S. and is notably the first EV to be assembled within the country.
The design of the 2027 Highlander features sharper lines and broader fenders compared to its predecessors, incorporating flush door handles for enhanced aerodynamics. It will be offered in Limited and XLE grades, with front-wheel or all-wheel drive options.
Depending on the battery configuration and drivetrain, the electric Highlander offers varying ranges. The XLE front-wheel drive with a 77 kWh battery is projected for 287 miles, while the XLE all-wheel drive variants can achieve up to 320 miles with the larger battery.
All versions of the 2027 Highlander can accommodate seven passengers, with foldable third-row seats for increased cargo space. Heated front seats are standard, with options for ventilated and heated second-row seats. Toyota plans to begin sales in late 2026, with pricing details to follow.
