30 Jan
Summary
- AI and V2X technology now control the S-Class suspension.
- Heated seatbelts are a new comfort and safety feature.
- The 2027 S-Class uses AI with Google Maps for road scanning.

Mercedes-Benz is enhancing its flagship S-Class sedan for 2027, focusing on comfort and technology over pure electric performance. The vehicle will now feature an "Intelligent Damping" system that uses AI, radar, and cameras to scan the road ahead. This system prepares the adaptive air suspension to counteract bumps and potholes, mitigating their impact on occupants.
This advanced technology shares information via the Mercedes Information Cloud and can transmit data to other equipped vehicles, improving collective road awareness. The integration of Google Cloud Automotive AI services with MB.OS software will power these systems, alongside infotainment features like Google Maps and productivity tools for in-car work.
Further enhancing passenger comfort, the 2027 S-Class introduces heated seatbelts for front occupants. Mercedes emphasizes this feature's role in comfort during cold weather and ensuring proper seatbelt fit. The updated S-Class lineup will offer gasoline and plug-in hybrid powertrains, with new models expected to reach U.S. dealers in the latter half of 2026.
