The 2027 KTM Freeride E has received a significant update, focusing on improved performance and rider experience for electric off-road adventures. This revitalized model is equipped with a powerful 19.2kW electric motor generating 37Nm of torque, complemented by selectable ride modes and regenerative braking for adaptive trail riding.
A central feature of the new Freeride E is its 5.5kWh swappable lithium-ion battery. This unit is engineered to offer between two to three hours of continuous off-road use, depending on riding conditions and style. KTM emphasizes the battery's longevity, with a lifespan rated for over 1,000 charge cycles before significant efficiency loss.
Charging convenience has also been addressed. While a standard charger takes approximately 8 hours for a full charge, an optional fast charger reduces this to a mere 1.5 hours. The entire 29kg battery pack can be removed in less than 10 minutes, facilitating easier maintenance and battery swaps. Weighing just 112kg, the Freeride E features a robust chrome-moly steel frame and WP suspension, promising agility on technical terrains.
Globally, the 2027 Freeride E will be available starting later this month. However, an immediate launch in India is not anticipated, as KTM has yet to introduce its electric motorcycle range domestically. Future prospects for the Indian market remain open, especially given KTM's evolving EV ambitions with Bajaj.
