Honda has unveiled its 2027 CBR1000RR-R Fireblade range at EICMA 2026, marking a substantial evolution for the flagship superbike. Developed with a philosophy of "Total Control for the Track," nearly 75 percent of the motorcycle has been newly designed. The lineup now features the standard Fireblade, the Fireblade SP, and an all-new HRC Works Edition.
The 2027 Fireblade showcases a redesigned aluminum twin-tube frame with altered rigidity for better cornering feel and acceleration stability, alongside a lighter swingarm for improved rear feedback. A titanium fuel tank reduces overall weight, with the SP model featuring a unique hand-finished titanium surface.
Powering the range is an updated 999cc inline four-cylinder engine, now equipped with a two-stage variable-length intake funnel system, a first for a mass-produced Honda. This technology optimizes intake length above 11,750 rpm, enhancing low- and mid-range performance without sacrificing top-end power. The throttle-by-wire system has also been refined for more responsive control.
The new Fireblade HRC Works Edition stands out as a homologation model for the World Superbike Championship. It includes race-focused features like carbon-fibre winglets, a carbon front fender, Ohlins suspension, and Brembo brakes, with optional HRC racing-kit components available.
Reflecting Honda's sustainability efforts, the 2027 Fireblade incorporates recycled and biomass-derived materials. The range is slated for a global release in 2027, aiming to bolster the Fireblade's competitiveness against key rivals.
