- He is ranked the No. 26 player in the transfer portal.
- Diallo adds much-needed size, scoring, and playmaking to Kentucky's backcourt.
The Kentucky Wildcats have landed a pivotal recruit with the commitment of former McDonald's All-American Zoom Diallo. This move injects significant confidence into head coach Mark Pope's rebuild, especially after missing on other portal targets.
Diallo, a highly-touted prospect since his high school days, brings a valuable skill set to Kentucky. Standing at 6-foot-4, he offers positional size, potent downhill scoring, and the ability to initiate offense, traits the Wildcats desperately needed last season.
His freshman season at Washington saw him average 11.1 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 2.7 assists. He followed this with a breakout sophomore campaign, averaging 15.7 points, 4.5 assists, and 3.9 rebounds, showcasing high-end playmaking upside.
Kentucky's 2025-26 season concluded with a 22-14 record and a second-round NCAA Tournament exit. The team struggled with consistent backcourt production and lacked a reliable offensive engine, a void Diallo is expected to fill.
