At the age of 15 years and 157 days, Sooryavanshi accomplished this milestone while playing for East Zone in their semifinal match against Central Zone. He reached his fifty in just 42 deliveries, showcasing an aggressive batting style. This new record eclipses the previous one held for 57 years. Sooryavanshi’s knock of 92 runs, though falling short of a century, narrowly missed breaking Sachin Tendulkar's 36-year-old record for the youngest Duleep Trophy centurion. Had he reached three figures, he would also have become the second-youngest Indian to score a First-Class century, a record still held by Dhruv Pandove.
