Clark's Blistering 60 Seals PGA Tour Victory

Wyndham Clark ended a two-year winless streak by claiming The CJ Cup Byron Nelson on Sunday. He posted an exceptional final round score of 60, finishing three shots clear of his closest competitor, Si Woo Kim. This victory is a significant milestone for Clark, the 2023 US Open champion, especially after a difficult start to the season. He had struggled to secure a top-10 finish since December and recently missed the cut at the PGA Championship.

Clark's final day performance was remarkable, featuring a bogey-free 60 to reach 30-under par for the tournament. This impressive score placed him five shots ahead of world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, who finished third. Clark began the final round tied for second, two shots behind the leaders, but quickly surged ahead with birdies on several early holes and an eagle on the 12th.

Si Woo Kim remained a strong contender, matching Clark's early birdies and adding more on his back nine. Despite a total of 3,776 birdies since 2016, Kim could not overcome Clark's final round brilliance, ultimately finishing second with a 65. Scottie Scheffler also played a flawless bogey-free round but was unable to match Clark's scoring pace, securing third place.

The PGA Tour season continues next week with the Charles Schwab Challenge at Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas. The tournament will feature a $9.9m prize purse, with Ben Griffin defending his title.
