WWE Shakes Up MFT: Tonga Loa & JC Mateo Released
2 May
Summary
- Tonga Loa and JC Mateo are reportedly released from WWE.
- MFT, Solo Sikoa's faction, has lost two key members recently.
- The group's future on SmackDown is uncertain following the departures.

Two members of the "My Family Tree" (MFT) faction have reportedly been released from WWE. Tonga Loa and JC Mateo are no longer with the company, according to recent reports.
These departures come after Solo Sikoa formed the "New Bloodline" which evolved into MFT, incorporating members like Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, and Jacob Fatu. JC Mateo and Talla Tonga were later added. Tonga Loa had a second run in WWE this year, debuting at Backlash in France. JC Mateo appeared at the same event, assisting Jacob Fatu.
MFT recently concluded a feud with The Wyatt Sicks on SmackDown, a rivalry that saw MFT steal Uncle Howdy's lantern and win the WWE Tag Team Championship in January 2026. Although they lost the titles in March 2026, MFT eventually won the feud. Following this, all members of The Wyatt Sicks were released from WWE.
The current MFT lineup includes Tama Tonga, Talla Tonga, and Solo Sikoa. With the recent releases, further changes to the group could be anticipated.
