28 Aug
Summary
- Wolves sign Girona defender Ladislav Krejci in £26M deal
- Krejci joins on initial loan, deal expected to become permanent
- Krejci provides cover and competition for Wolves' defense

On August 28th, 2025, Wolverhampton Wanderers have announced the signing of Girona defender Ladislav Krejci in a deal that is expected to eventually cost around £26 million. The 26-year-old Czech player, who can also play in midfield, has joined Wolves on an initial season-long loan for a fee of €7 million.
The deal is set to automatically become permanent next summer for a further €23 million if certain clauses are triggered, but Wolves expect to activate an option to buy in any event, meaning the clubs view this as a permanent transfer.
Krejci, who started his senior career in his home country of Czech Republic, has joined Wolves to provide cover and competition in their defense. His ability to play on the left side of a back three is seen as a valuable asset, as Wolves' head coach Vitor Pereira prefers to have a left-footed player in that position. Krejci's versatility to also fill in as a midfielder is another factor that attracted Wolves to the signing.
