Wisconsin's football program has secured a significant addition to its 2026 roster with the commitment of JUCO running back Julius Pope. Pope's signing addresses the team's need to strengthen its backfield for the upcoming season.
Pope joins the Badgers with three years of eligibility remaining, making him a valuable long-term asset. He previously played for Arkansas and Northwest Mississippi Community College, where he demonstrated considerable talent. In his last season at Northwest Mississippi, he recorded 576 rushing yards and six touchdowns, alongside 29 receptions for 312 yards and two additional scores.
This addition creates a crowded but competitive running back room for Wisconsin. Pope's ability to contribute as a receiver out of the backfield is a particularly intriguing aspect for the coaching staff. Despite the competition, Pope appears ready to make an immediate impact, offering the team depth and potential for future development.
