Proteas wicket-keeper Ryan Rickelton has lauded all-rounder Wiaan Mulder for his "phenomenal" bowling form in the recent Test series against Australia. Rickelton, who has observed Mulder closely, stated that the bowler is experiencing the best period of his career.
Mulder's performance has been marked by increased bowling speed and intensity. Rickelton believes that the responsibility of leading the attack, particularly when opening the bowling in Durban, has significantly boosted Mulder's confidence and effectiveness. This role has transformed him from a supplementary bowler to a key wicket-taker.
The return of fast bowler Kagiso Rabada has also been a pivotal factor. Rickelton highlighted Rabada's strong presence, which eases the burden on other bowlers like Marco Jansen, allowing them to perform with greater freedom and confidence. The Proteas are preparing for the third Test, with the series currently tied at 1-1.
