Sox Seek Turnaround: Kay Aims for Redemption vs. Mariners
10 May
Summary
- White Sox pitcher Anthony Kay looks to rebound from early season struggles.
- Luis Castillo, Mariners' pitcher, has also had a rocky start to the season.
- Randal Grichuk replaces Andrew Benintendi in the White Sox lineup due to soreness.
The Chicago White Sox aim to reverse their fortunes tonight, seeking a win after dropping the first game of their nine-game homestand and facing a three-game losing streak. Anthony Kay will start on the mound, hoping to find consistency after a difficult start to the season. Kay has not pitched into the sixth inning since April 9.
On the opposing side, Mariners' pitcher Luis Castillo has also had a challenging beginning to his year. Castillo has given up runs in all but one of his starts, with two instances of surrendering seven runs. The White Sox offense will feature Randal Grichuk, who homered as a pinch-hitter yesterday, replacing Andrew Benintendi due to neck soreness.
The game is scheduled for 6:40 p.m. CT and will be broadcast on CHSN or ESPN 1000.
