Quero's Bat Speed Boost at Driveline
31 Jan
Summary
- Prospect focused on increasing bat speed and launch angle.
- Lower-body strength exercises were prescribed for explosiveness.
- Expected to share catching and DH duties in 2026.

White Sox prospect Quero recently underwent a training session at Driveline Baseball. The visit focused on increasing his bat speed and improving his launch angle, aiming to translate his existing hard-hit ability into more power. His rookie season showed promise with a 46.3 percent hard-hit rate, but his bat speed and launch angle were notably low.
An evaluation revealed a need for greater lower-body strength. Consequently, Quero was assigned specific drills designed to boost his explosiveness and consequently his bat speed. Instructors also worked with him on adjusting his swing plane to increase his pull rate and hit the ball with more authority. Quero is projected to share catching duties and see significant time at designated hitter for the White Sox in 2026.
