WVU Stuns TCU for Big 12 Title
9 Mar
Summary
- West Virginia won its second Big 12 Tournament title.
- Jordan Harrison scored 20 points to lead the Mountaineers.
- TCU's star player played with foul trouble.

No. 15 West Virginia clinched their second Big 12 Tournament title, defeating No. 10 TCU 62-53 in Kansas City, Mo. The Mountaineers, seeded second, secured their first conference championship since the 2016-17 season. Jordan Harrison was instrumental, scoring 20 points, grabbing six rebounds, and recording four assists. Sydney Shaw added 17 points to the winning effort.
TCU, the top seed and reigning conference tournament champion, saw their player of the year, Olivia Miles, limited by foul trouble for much of the contest. Despite scoring 17 points, Miles accumulated fouls early, impacting TCU's offensive rhythm. Marta Suarez also contributed 16 points for TCU, but the team struggled with shooting efficiency.
West Virginia's defensive pressure was a key factor, disrupting TCU's offense and creating turnovers. This victory avenged two close regular-season losses to TCU earlier in the season. Both teams now look ahead to the NCAA Tournament, with West Virginia likely earning a 4th or 5th seed and playing on the road, while TCU is expected to host early-round games.
