West Muskingum boys basketball showcased their prowess on March 5, decisively defeating Cadiz Harrison Central 63-24 in a Division V district semifinal held at Dover High School. The second-seeded Tornadoes established an early 17-point lead in the first quarter, demonstrating strong team defense from the outset.
Kyle Porter spearheaded the offensive effort with 19 points, supported by Noah Morrison's 13 points. The team's defense stifled the Huskies, who struggled to score, with their top player managing only five points. This win extended West Muskingum's winning streak to five games.
The Tornadoes will now advance to play fifth-seeded Ridgewood on March 7 at Tri-Valley High School. This matchup will determine who secures a berth in the regional tournament at Zanesville's Winland Memorial Gymnasium. Coach Smith anticipates a challenging game against Ridgewood's physical style of play.
