Summary
- Hayley Matthews remained unbeaten on 82 runs.
- West Indies Women secured an eight-wicket victory.
- Ireland Women were restricted to 103 runs.
The West Indies women's cricket team commenced their Women's Tri-Series campaign with a resounding eight-wicket triumph over hosts Ireland. Captain Hayley Matthews delivered a stellar performance, remaining undefeated on 82 runs.
Ireland's innings faltered after being put in to bat, with regular wickets tumbling. They were ultimately bowled out for 103 runs in 17 overs, a total that proved insufficient against a strong West Indies batting lineup.
Despite losing two early wickets in their chase, Matthews took control of the game. Her aggressive yet calculated batting, supported by Stafanie Taylor, quickly extinguished any hopes of an Ireland comeback. West Indies reached the target of 104/2 in just 11.3 overs, securing a commanding victory.
