26 May
Summary
- West Ham United has been relegated to the Championship after 14 years.
- David Sullivan's partner believes the team will bounce back stronger.
- The club faces significant changes in players and management.
After a challenging season, West Ham United has been relegated to the Championship, concluding a 14-year tenure in the Premier League. The club's performance saw them win 10, draw 9, and lose 19 games.
David Sullivan's partner, Ampika Pickston, shared a positive outlook, asserting that it is time for the team to reset and rebuild, with 'the only way is up.' This sentiment comes as the Hammers prepare for substantial changes during the upcoming summer transfer window.
The club faces the task of offloading high-profile players on substantial wages. Manager Nuno Espirito Santo may depart, with interest from Besiktas, and players like Axel Disasi are attracting foreign interest.
West Ham aims to strengthen its squad for the next season, a move that has been lacking in recent times. The club hopes to emulate their 2011/12 promotion success as they strive for an immediate return to the Premier League.
