Wayne Pivac, the former head coach of Wales and the Scarlets, will take the helm at Italian United Rugby Championship (URC) side Benetton. The 63-year-old New Zealander has agreed to a contract extending until June 2028, with provisions for an additional two seasons.
Pivac's tenure with the Welsh national team from 2019 to 2022 saw him secure a Six Nations title in 2021. Before coaching Wales, he guided the Scarlets to a Pro12 championship title in 2017.
Expressing his enthusiasm for the new role, Pivac cited his positive past experiences in Treviso as a key factor in accepting the offer. He is eager to build upon the club's existing work and guide Benetton to further success.
