Six Nations Shock: Unsold Tickets Plague Welsh Matches
13 Feb
Summary
- Tens of thousands of tickets are still available for Wales' home Six Nations games.
- Cardiff's Principality Stadium, usually packed, has significant unsold inventory.
- The Welsh Rugby Union cites changing buying habits for the ticket sales dip.

Wales is experiencing an unusual surplus of tickets for its home matches in the Six Nations tournament, with tens of thousands remaining unsold. Traditionally, games at the 74,000-capacity Principality Stadium in Cardiff sell out or achieve very high attendance figures, making this a notable development.
As of Thursday, there were 15,700 tickets left for the upcoming match against France, 6,700 for the game against Scotland, and a substantial 27,000 available for Italy's visit in March, according to the official ticket site.
The Welsh Rugby Union (WRU) has commented that purchasing behaviors have shifted. They indicated that ticket sales have been averaging around 1,000 per day during the current week, suggesting a slower, more consistent sales pace compared to previous years.
