Vlahovic Rejects Besiktas Again, Barcelona Dream Persists

Dusan Vlahovic's future remains uncertain, with the striker reportedly rejecting Besiktas's advances for a second time. Besiktas had presented a compelling offer, including a signing bonus of over five million euros and an eight million euro annual salary for two years. However, Vlahovic's aspirations are seemingly set on Barcelona, who are seeking a successor for Robert Lewandowski. The Spanish club's primary target is Julian Alvarez, but his high asking price has led them to consider alternatives, with Vlahovic on their list. His advisors had proactively offered him to Barcelona weeks prior, though the club did not prioritize a move for him.

Vlahovic's pursuit of a Barcelona transfer risks him forfeiting the attractive offer from Istanbul. Besiktas, encouraged by their new coach Vincenzo Italiano, who previously managed Vlahovic at Fiorentina, has agreed to extend the decision-making period for the Serbian international. Juventus, Vlahovic's former club, had also offered a contract extension on reduced terms, which he declined, seemingly closing the door on a return to Turin. Vlahovic, who moved to Juventus for approximately 85 million euros in 2022, had a mixed tenure with the club, facing competition for his spot and an injury spell last season.

Despite ending the previous season strongly with four goals in his last four Serie A matches, Juventus appears prepared to move on, with Randal Kolo Muani identified as a potential replacement. Vlahovic's current situation leaves Besiktas as his most realistic option, assuming his Barcelona hopes do not materialize.
