Vinod Kambli's Health: Wife Denies Serious Illness Reports

Vinod Kambli's wife, Andrea Hewitt, has denied reports circulating about the former Indian cricketer's health, stating he is "fine." These claims suggested that Kambli has been dealing with a brain clot since a hospital stay about 18 months ago, which has reportedly affected his memory. His friend and former umpire, Marcus Couto, expressed concern, mentioning the clot and noting that Kambli, despite quitting alcohol, still smokes occasionally. Couto stated this habit puts Kambli at risk of a brain stroke, as advised by neurosurgeon Dr. Aadil Chagla.

Despite these health worries, Couto also shared a positive update, noting Kambli's recent appearance in an advertisement where he seemed to be in "decent health." Kambli now uses a walking stick. His son, Cristiano, aspires to be a cricketer and has been accepted into Jatin Paranjape's cricket academy without charge. Kambli has a history of health issues, including being hospitalized in December 2024 for a severe urinary infection and undergoing surgery in 2013 after suffering two heart attacks.
