Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jeshaun Jones will miss the first three games of the 2026 regular season after receiving a suspension for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy. The ban officially commences on August 30, allowing Jones to still participate in the team's remaining preseason schedule, including an upcoming game against the Broncos.
The suspension is a consequence of an incident on April 18, where Jones was arrested for refusing to submit to a blood alcohol test. He subsequently pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of reckless driving and was sentenced to twelve months of probation.
Jones's ability to make the active 53-man roster appears diminished by this suspension. However, if the Vikings choose to retain him, he would not count against the roster limit while serving his ban. He has been a standout performer in the preseason, leading the team in receiving yardage. In previous seasons, Jones was part of the practice squad.
