Oladipo's Plea: 'Give Me One More Chance'

Victor Oladipo, a two-time NBA All-Star, has penned an open letter to league general managers, requesting a new opportunity to play. Oladipo has been sidelined since April 2023 after tearing his left patellar tendon while with the Miami Heat. This injury added to a history of significant health setbacks, including a ruptured quadriceps tendon in 2019.

Despite these challenges, Oladipo stated in his letter that he believes his body is finally recovered and that he can still be a valuable contributor. He spent last season playing in the G League for the Wisconsin Herd, averaging 13.5 points per game. To further alleviate concerns about his physical condition, he conducted a private workout for front office personnel.

Oladipo expressed that a significant motivation for his return is his young daughter, Naomi. He wishes for her to witness his perseverance and learn from his journey, especially during difficult times. His career averages over 10 NBA seasons include 16.9 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.9 assists, and 1.6 steals per game.

He acknowledged the uncertainty of his future in the league, leaving the decision to the NBA front offices. Oladipo conveyed his deep gratitude to those who have taken the time to read his appeal and consider his past and potential future contributions to the game.
