British army veteran Darren Hardy has embarked on an extraordinary 100-hour challenge to pull a vintage 1.5-ton Land Rover 100 km. This grueling effort, taking place at Blackbushe Airport, aims to raise crucial awareness and funds for H-ABC, an extremely rare and incurable degenerative brain disease.
Hardy, who served as a Royal Engineer and was discharged with PTSD, has a history of extreme endurance feats. He anticipates burning approximately 50,000 calories and surviving on minimal sleep during the four-day endeavor. The challenge is not only a physical test but also a significant mental one due to the monotony and sleep deprivation involved.
The event has garnered support from Hardy's family and those affected by H-ABC, including 17-year-old Aggie Candy-Waters. Hardy's goal is to raise £100,000, adding to the £120,000 already collected for the H-ABC Foundation, to provide hope for affected families.
