Rich Scangarello, a veteran NFL coach, is making an interesting career transition. As of August 1st, 2025, Scangarello has joined LIFT Sports, an agency that provides mentorship and support to NFL players.
Scangarello, who served as the offensive coordinator for the Denver Broncos in 2019, will now focus on developing quarterback talent. In his new role, he will mentor quarterbacks, lead film study sessions, and provide coaching support. During his time with the Broncos, Scangarello worked with then-rookie quarterback Drew Lock, who went 4-1 as a starter that year.
After his stint with the Broncos, Scangarello had coaching roles with the Philadelphia Eagles and San Francisco 49ers before spending a year at the college level, coaching Kentucky's offense and quarterbacks. Most recently, he served as the quarterbacks coach for the Las Vegas Raiders in 2024.
Scangarello's experience in working with quarterback prospects leading up to the last two NFL drafts, including Caleb Williams in 2024, has made him a valuable asset in his new position at LIFT Sports. This move represents a shift in Scangarello's career, as he transitions from being a coordinator on the sidelines to mentoring and developing the next generation of NFL quarterbacks.
