Verstappen Sees Red Bull Closing Gap in Miami

Max Verstappen has indicated that Red Bull has made significant strides in closing the performance gap to their Formula One competitors. The four-time world champion stated he feels more confident in his upgraded car, describing the improvements as a "really positive step." Verstappen noted that the team has nearly halved the deficit, which had previously been over a second per lap.

This newfound optimism comes after a challenging start to the season where Verstappen had expressed dissatisfaction with the car's performance and even contemplated his future in the sport. Ahead of the Miami Grand Prix sprint race, where he qualified in fifth position, Verstappen commented that the car feels "a bit more normal, a bit more together." His teammate, Isack Hadjar, qualified ninth for the sprint race.
