Brundle to Verstappen: Quit F1 or Stop Complaining

Martin Brundle, a veteran Formula 1 commentator, has strongly advised Max Verstappen to either leave the sport or stop voicing his persistent dissatisfaction. Verstappen, a four-time world champion, recently indicated he might depart F1 at the conclusion of the current season, citing dissatisfaction with the new regulations and car designs.

Brundle expressed weariness with Verstappen's continuous complaints, stating that "it's getting a bit boring." He asserted that no driver is indispensable in Formula 1, drawing parallels to past talents who have moved on while the sport persevered. Brundle pointed to emerging drivers like Antonelli and Bearman as examples of future talent ready to take the F1 stage.

Despite Verstappen's Red Bull contract extending to 2028, this is the first time he has publicly mentioned leaving at the season's end. Brundle acknowledged Verstappen's exceptional talent and driving skill but suggested that contractual clauses might have been included due to Red Bull's powertrain development. He speculated on Verstappen's potential future destinations, noting that Mercedes currently has no openings.

Brundle contrasted Verstappen's public approach with how Michael Schumacher might have handled similar frustrations, suggesting Schumacher would have resolved issues privately before going public. While appreciating Verstappen's directness, Brundle believes he is unlikely to actually leave F1 if he can secure a competitive car.
