Valverde Benched: Real Madrid's Tactical Shift vs. AEK Athens

Federico Valverde has been left out of Real Madrid's starting lineup for their UEFA Champions League match against AEK Athens. The decision is a precautionary one by manager José Mourinho, who aims to protect the Uruguayan midfielder from further physical discomfort following his absence in a recent domestic game. Mourinho's priority is to prevent any potential injury relapse.

Real Madrid arrives in Athens with a perfect record of three consecutive wins in the league phase and aims to maintain this momentum. The team will also be rotating other players as they navigate a demanding schedule before the upcoming FIFA international window. The club sees the upcoming match against Valencia as a potential opportunity for Valverde to return to the starting lineup, underscoring his importance to the team's performance, especially as results become increasingly critical.
