The Golden State Valkyries are on the cusp of a WNBA championship, holding a 3-2 series lead after a gritty 64-55 Game 5 victory over the Atlanta Dream. This win, achieved on Monday night, was largely attributed to the Valkyries' formidable defense, which is recognized as the league's best.
The Dream struggled offensively, managing only 29.2 percent shooting and committing 15 turnovers throughout the game. This marked the lowest-scoring playoff game of the season, even surpassing the previous low of 60 points. Prior to this, the Dream had shown scoring potential, notably with a 97-point performance in Game 3.
Game 6 is slated for Thursday in Atlanta. The start time has been advanced to 12:30 p.m. ET to allow for a larger fan turnout at State Farm Arena, a venue significantly bigger than the Dream's usual home court, Gateway Center.
