Usain Bolt Savors Mumbai's Vibrant Navratri Festivities

In October 2025, legendary sprinter Usain Bolt visited Mumbai, India, during the Navratri festival. The Jamaican athlete was brought to the city by Dream Set Go, a sports organization founded by Monish Shah.

Bolt immersed himself in the city's festive spirit, witnessing the lively Navratri celebrations firsthand. He was surprised by the heavy traffic, asking a police officer about the reason for the congestion. The officer informed him that the festival was the cause of the increased traffic.

Despite the traffic, Bolt thoroughly enjoyed experiencing the diverse culture of Mumbai. He tried Indian cuisine, including a curry dish with naan, and was pleasantly surprised by the flavors. Bolt described the meal as "so good," noting that Jamaican curry is different from the Indian variety.

The sprint legend also met Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor, who had previously invited Bolt to visit India. Bolt admitted that he had not watched many Bollywood films but expressed interest in exploring the industry's global influence. When asked about who he would want to portray him in a biopic, Bolt confidently named acclaimed actor Idris Elba as his top choice.

Monish Shah, the founder of Dream Set Go, praised Bolt's warm and engaging demeanor during his time in Mumbai. Bolt was described as being very forthcoming and excited about his experience in India.
