The U.S. Elite Team earned a bronze medal at the International Cup after a decisive 7-0 victory over Canada. Head coach Patty Gasso expressed pride in the team's performance, particularly a run-rule win against a strong Canadian opponent.
The team's journey included tough back-to-back losses against Japan and the U.S. Women's National Team. However, standout players like Ana Gold, who hit three home runs, and Morgan Zerkle, with a .500 batting average, propelled the Elite Team to a respected third-place finish.
OU catcher Kendall Wells sealed the victory with a walk-off double in the fifth inning. The athletes are now looking towards their next steps, with many aiming for the 2028 Olympics in Oklahoma City, where Gasso will select 15 players from the U.S. pool.
