Summary
- United has players who want to leave, but club won't wait for exits to sign replacements
- United spent £200m on transfers, strengthening attack with Sesko, Cunha, Mbeumo
- Amorim says United played well against Arsenal despite narrow loss, expects tough Fulham match

As of August 22nd, 2025, Manchester United is facing a situation where a group of players want to leave the club. However, according to coach Ruben Amorim, the club will not wait for these players to depart before bringing in their replacements.
United had previously announced in July that five players, including Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, Antony, Tyrell Malacia, and Jadon Sancho, were seeking to leave the club. While Rashford has since joined Barcelona on loan, the others are yet to depart.
Amorim has left all four of these players out of the squad when United began its Premier League campaign with a 1-0 home loss to Arsenal last weekend. The coach acknowledged that it is not an ideal situation to have players who want to play elsewhere, but he made it clear that United's plans to strengthen the squad are not contingent on these players leaving.
In fact, United has already spent around £200 million on transfers this summer, bolstering their attack with the arrivals of Benjamin Sesko, Matheus Cunha, and Bryan Mbeumo. Amorim said the team played well against Arsenal despite the narrow defeat and is now focused on maintaining their consistency against Fulham, which drew at Brighton & Hove Albion last weekend.
The coach praised Fulham's clear identity and experienced manager Marco Silva, stating that it will be a tough match for United. With goalkeeper Andre Onana fit to play again after a hamstring injury, Amorim has a full squad to choose from, except for Lisandro Martinez and Noussair Mazraoui.
