Ukraine uniform map ban sparks Games controversy

The Ukrainian team was required to change a planned uniform for the upcoming Winter Paralympic Games. The original design featured a map of Ukraine, encompassing all territories temporarily occupied by Russia. This was deemed a violation of International Paralympic Committee (IPC) rules.
IPC Chief Brand and Communications Officer Craig Spence stated that items related to national identity, including country maps, are forbidden. An alternative uniform was promptly provided and approved by the IPC within 24 hours for the Milano Cortina Games.
