The Cranes, who had previously lost their tournament opener against Algeria, were determined to bounce back and keep their hopes of advancing alive. In the first half, Uganda's Reagan Mpande put the team into the lead by heading home a cross from Joel Sserunjogi, easing the pressure on the hosts.
In the second half, Uganda's captain Allan Okello, who played a pivotal role throughout the match, doubled the lead by converting a penalty after being fouled. Substitute Ivan Ahimbisibwe then added a late third goal to seal the victory for the home side.

Elsewhere in Group C, South Africa marked its return to the CHAN championship after 11 years with a 1-1 draw against the formidable Algeria. The Desert Foxes had taken the lead through Abdennour Belhocini's strike, but veteran striker Thabiso Kutumela equalized for Bafana Bafana just before halftime, earning the South Africans their first point in the tournament.
With this result, Algeria maintains the Group C lead with four points from two matches, while Uganda and South Africa will be looking to build on their performances in the upcoming fixtures.
