At UFC Fight Night 286, held in Shanghai, participating fighters were compensated with a total of $164,500 through the UFC Promotional Guidelines Compliance program. This initiative, which outlines fighter conduct and outfitting, replaces the former Athlete Outfitting Policy.
The payout structure is tiered, rewarding fighters based on their total number of UFC bouts, including Zuffa-era WEC and Strikeforce fights. Payouts range from $4,000 for fighters with one to three bouts up to $21,000 for those with 21 or more fights. Champions receive $42,000, and title challengers are awarded $32,000.
Beyond bout pay, UFC athletes will also earn ongoing royalty payments, receiving 20-30 percent of merchandise sales featuring their image. This program has significantly contributed to the UFC's financial distribution, with a program-to-date total of $45,523,500. The year-to-date total for 2026 alone amounts to $6,405,500.
