FGCU Transfer Malone Faces Former Team

The UCF Knights are set to host the Florida Gulf Coast Eagles for a non-conference game on November 2. This matchup features a notable storyline with the transfer of Isaiah Malone from FGCU to UCF. Malone, who was the ASUN Defensive Player of the Year, earned the award for leading the league in blocks. His defensive capabilities are anticipated to strengthen UCF's team, particularly in rim protection. The Knights are undergoing a significant retooling process, having lost their top four scorers. They have brought in seven new transfers to fill these roles. The game against FGCU will offer UCF an opportunity to showcase its strengthened roster and pursue non-conference success. This fixture also reunites Malone with his former team, adding a layer of personal narrative to the contest.
