Philadelphia 76ers player Tyrese Maxey recently showcased a different kind of agility, participating in the Purina Pro Plan Incredible Dog Challenge. The event, which took place on November 16th and was broadcast on Thanksgiving, saw Maxey navigating an obstacle course with two energetic dogs named Howie and Spike.
Despite his prowess on the basketball court, Maxey admitted the canine challenge left him quite winded. He joked on the broadcast that he was as tired as if he had played an entire quarter, humorously stating he might stick to basketball. The course featured tunnels, weave poles, hurdles, and a tire jump, testing both Maxey's command-giving and the dogs' responsiveness.
Maxey, a dog owner himself, brought some prior experience to the event. Producers worked with him to familiarize him with the course and pair him with suitable dogs. His runs clocked in at 41 seconds with Howie and 30 seconds with Spike, with the former run involving a playful tug-of-war over a toy.
