24 Oct
Summary
- Tyrese Maxey denies ever visiting Doc Rivers' residence.
- The rumor claimed Maxey complained about James Harden.
- Maxey and Harden had a recent on-court confrontation.
Tyrese Maxey has strongly refuted a circulating rumor concerning his former coach, Doc Rivers. The claim, attributed to Stephen A. Smith, suggested Maxey visited Rivers' home to express frustration over James Harden's playoff performance. However, Maxey took to X (formerly Twitter) to dismiss the story, stating he has never even been to Rivers' house.
This rumor surfaced following a recent game where Maxey and Harden, now teammates on the LA Clippers, engaged in a heated on-court exchange. Harden was seen grabbing Maxey's jersey during the incident. Following the game, Maxey downplayed the confrontation, emphasizing their mutual respect.
During their time together on the Philadelphia 76ers, Maxey, Harden, and Joel Embiid formed a potent offensive trio but never advanced beyond the second round of the playoffs. Harden was later traded to the Clippers at the start of the 2023-24 season.
