On November 15, 2025, the Minnesota Twins announced the finalization of new manager Derek Shelton's coaching staff for the upcoming 2026 season. The Twins have brought in several new faces to support Shelton, including veteran Giants coach Mark Hallberg as the team's new bench coach.
Hallberg, 39, joins the Twins after six seasons on the San Francisco Giants' coaching staff, most recently as first base coach for the past two seasons. He also served as third base coach during the 2022 and 2023 seasons. Prior to that, Hallberg spent two seasons with the Giants' Short-Season A Salem-Keizer club.
The Twins have also hired Keith Beauregard as their new hitting coach. Beauregard comes over from the Detroit Tigers, where he held the same role for the previous three seasons. He was praised for his work with several young stars the Tigers have built around, though it remains unclear why Detroit parted ways with the 42-year-old following the 2025 season.
Additionally, the Twins have promoted Toby Gardenhire, son of Twins Hall of Fame manager Ron Gardenhire, to the major league staff for the first time in his career. Toby Gardenhire spent the previous five seasons managing at Triple-A St. Paul and has an overall 508-488 (.510) record as a minor league manager.
The Twins had reportedly shown interest in hiring Yankees hitting coach James Rowson as their bench coach after he finished as the runner-up to Shelton in their managerial hiring process, but Rowson will remain in New York.
