The Minnesota Twins have made several roster moves, recalling promising left-handed pitcher Kendry Rojas from Triple-A St. Paul to join the bullpen for a series against the New York Mets. Rojas, 23, brings a powerful arm to the team. Prospect Connor Prielipp is also expected to join the team from St. Paul and is slated to start Wednesday's game at Citi Field.
These call-ups come as the Twins navigate injuries. Right-handed pitcher Mick Abel has been placed on the 15-day injured list with right elbow discomfort, while left-handed pitcher Kody Funderburk was placed on the paternity list. Abel's injury is being managed aggressively with the hope of a quick recovery.
In addition, the Twins activated Royce Lewis from the 10-day injured list. Lewis returns after recovering from a left knee sprain and homered in his rehab starts. He is expected to have no significant restrictions on his availability upon his return.
