The Miami Dolphins are reportedly set to move on from quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, with either a trade or release likely this offseason. The Indianapolis Colts have emerged as a surprising potential landing spot for the young quarterback. This potential move is fueled by uncertainty surrounding Daniel Jones's readiness for Week 1 due to an Achilles injury.
The Colts' offense presents an attractive situation for Tagovailoa, featuring a strong offensive line, a top-tier running back in Jonathan Taylor, and a solid group of receivers led by Michael Pittman. These supporting pieces could allow Tua to thrive and potentially put up significant numbers, especially if he were to sign a prove-it deal.
With Daniel Jones's return in doubt for at least part of the 2026 season, the Colts may seek a veteran bridge quarterback. Tagovailoa could fill this role, making the prospect of him joining the Colts a possibility that may not be as far-fetched as it initially seems.
