Tua's Falcons Debut: Mixed Bag Preseason Performance

Tua Tagovailoa made his first appearance for the Falcons on Friday night, facing the Broncos in a preseason game. During his time leading the offense, the Falcons punted on both of his drives. The initial series resulted in a three-and-out after gaining minimal yardage, and the second drive saw the team advance to their own 32-yard line before punting again.

Tagovailoa concluded his play completing three of five passes for 22 yards, achieving a passer rating of 70.4. He also experienced a fumble on a shotgun snap, which he recovered himself. He is currently designated as the primary quarterback. Michael Penix Jr. is still recovering from a torn ACL and has not yet been cleared for team activities.

The Falcons are set to commence their regular season on September 13 with an away game against the Steelers. This marks a significant matchup, given that a previous Dolphins loss in Pittsburgh last season led to Tagovailoa's benching and his subsequent move to the Falcons, who are paying him over $50 million.
